Hola a todos. El día de hoy presento esta página web dedicada a todas las actividades que realizo como guitarrista. La página web está un 90% terminada. Los links que aún están en construcción están señalados. Quiero mencionar algo: a lo largo de los años, siempre que redacto una biografía para algún proyecto, ésta comienza a partir del año 1986. Siempre he omitido lo que pasó entre 1981 y 1986. En esta página web no hay detalles escritos sobre esta etapa de mi carrera pero si hay muestras fotográficas y discográficas. Y hoy por primera vez lo escribo de manera pública. Entre 1981 y 1986, fueron mis primeros pasos como guitarrista. Esos primeros pasos se dieron en la música "rock". Tuve una banda llamada RUSSIA que hizo alguas cosas interesantes (4to. lugar en el Concurso Nacional de Reino Aventura hoy Six Flags; 5to. lugar en el Primer Festival Juvenil de Rock organizado por Discos Peerless de México en donde grabamos un track en el LP de los quince (15) finlaistas. En este lp también grabaron con sus respectivos grupos Saúl Hernández ( hoy de Caifanes), Leoncio Lara (Bon), Ramón Pérez ( hoy de el El Tri) , Alex Phillips III, entre otros. En esta época en que el "rock" era prohibido a niveles masivos en nuestro país (México), con RUSSIA y otras bandas nos dimos a la tarea de abrir espacios en diversos sitios de la Ciudad de México tocando en un gran número de lugares. En estos años tuve la fortuna de compartir, además del escenario, camerinos, guitarras, pedales, amplificadores con bandas como Kenny and the Electrics (aún no se nombraban en español), Javier Bátiz, Chac Mool, The O´s (Sabo Romo), Dug Dugs, Ricky Luis, Lanselot (Pepe Coggiola), Grupo No, Axis (de Ciudad Satélite al igual que nosotros), Rocking Pills (Cala, hoy de Rostros Ocultos), Dama (Rod Levario), Crista Galli, etc... Rememorando esos años, descubrí que fueron muy importantes pero sobre todo muy, muy divertidos y muy ilustrativos. En algún momento de 1985, impulsado por la energía familiar (mi mamá me puso a estudiar guitarra clásica desde 1982), y en busqueda de algo más en la música (la escena pop no era mi destino y cada vez más me metía a oir otras músicas: King Crimson, John Mc. Laughling, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, Leo Brouwer, Turibio Santos, Michael Hedges, Allan Holdsworth, entre otros) empecé a buscar posibilidades para estudiar seriamente la guitarra. Fueron clarísimas dos (2) opciones: Guitar Craft y la Escuela Cubana de Guitarra. La segunda fue la posible. Me fuí a Cuba en 1986. Dejé el "rock" por completo hasta muchos años después de graduarme en 1997. En 2005-2007 comencé a experimenar nuevamente con la guitarra eléctrica y electroacústica y algunas cositas (ZIG Z4G, CGE, las más importantes) han ocurrido en ese ámbito. Tuve la fortuna de estudiar en Guitar Craft a partir de 2009. Creo que al día de hoy no estoy dejando de lado nada de lo que deseo y he deseado musicalmente y en estos momentos que presento esta página web, siento que contar esto provoca un buen "nuevo" comienzo. Gracias a todos los que han estado en el camino y un agradecimiento especial a mi esposa, compañera y diseñadora de esta página web, Raquel Pérez. Siempre me haces ir hacia adelante.../Hello everyone. Today I am releasing this web page dedicated to all the musical activities that I carry out as a guitarist. The web page is 90% completed. The links that are still under construction have a mark. I would like to mention something: as years go by, every time I write up a biography for a project, it begins in 1986. I have always left out what happened in between 1981 and 1986. In tis web page there are no written details about this time of my career but there are photographic and discographic samples. And today for the first time I write it publicly. In between 1981 and 1986 I gave my first steps as a guitarist. Those first steps were held in "rock" music. I had a band called RUSSIA that made some interesting stuff (4th. award at "Concurso Nacional de Reino Aventura" today Six Flags; 5th. award at "Primer Festival Juvenil de Rock" organized by Peerless Records of México where we recorded a track in the LP by the fifteen (15) finalists. In this lp also recorded with their respective bands Saúl Hernández (today in "Caifanes"), Leoncio Lara (Bon), Ramón Pérez (today in "El Tri") , Alex Phillips III, amongst others. At this times that "rock" was forbidden in the masive levels in our country (Mexico), with RUSSIA alongside other bands we set out the task to open spaces in diverse sites of Mexico City performing in a lot of places. In those years I had the fortune of sharing, stages, green rooms, guitars, pedals, amplifiers with bands like Kenny and the Electrics (not yet named in spanish), Javier Bátiz, Chac Mool, The O´s (Sabo Romo), Dug Dugs, Ricky Luis, Lanselot (Pepe Coggiola), Grupo No, Axis (from Ciudad Satélite as us), Rocking Pills (Cala, today in "Rostros Ocultos"), Dama (Rod Levario), Crista Galli, etc... Remembering those years, I discovered there were very important but over all, very, very fun and very ilustrative. At some point in 1985, motivated by family energies (my mother put my to study classical guitar since 1982), and in search of something more in music (the pop scene was not my destiny and more often I dug onto other muiscs: King Crimson, John Mc. Laughling, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, Leo Brouwer, Turibio Santos, Michael Hedges, Allan Holdsworth, amongst others) I started to look for serious posibilities to study the guitar. Two (2) posibilites were very clear: Guitar Craft and the Cuban Guitar School. The second one was the possible one. I went to Cuba in 1986. I completely left "rock" until several years after graduation in 1997. In 2005-2007 I began exprimenting again with the electric and electroacustic guitar and some little things (ZIG Z4G, and CGE the most important) have ocurred in this field. I have had the fortune to study in Guitar Craft since 2009. As for today I think I have not left aside nothing that I desire or have derired musically, and in this moment that I release this web page, I feel that narrating this causes a good "new" beginning.
